Insectary

The Insectary Core is located at the School of Public Health Building and occupies 3,000 square feet. It consists of seven environmentally controlled walk-in incubators, ten reach-in incubators and seven laboratory work areas. One section of the Insectary Core is a designated high-security area for handling arthropods infected with human malaria parasites and other pathogens. For over ten years, CRC has certified the insectary annually to the NIH/CDC guidelines.

BSL-3 Laboratories

CRC provides annual certification of the BSL-3 laboratories at the Johns Hopkins Institutions. In support of the Environmental Health and Safety Department, our professionals conduct a risk assessment for these critical areas to ensure engineering controls compliance to the NIH/CDC guidelines.
